Royal Marines kilt
We recently accepted a commission to create a Royal Marines kilt in the Corps Colours:
- Blue 4 part
- Yellow 1 part
- Green 1 part
- Red 2 parts
- Blue 4 parts
Blue
Navy blue is the primary colour in the combination selected. it marks the intimate connection of the Corps with the RN. Blue was the colour of the facings on the uniform for over 100 years.
Red
Drummer red is the secondary colour in the design. This tint of red is the old historic colour of the British Army and was worn by the infantry of the Corps from early times down to the introduction of scarlet in 1876.
Green
Light Infantry green was worn on the shako by the infantry of the Corps for some years. It was perpetuated in the bugle strings of the RMLI
Yellow
Old gold, rather than yellow, is the colour closely associated with the early history of the Corps, as it was the distinctive colour of the dress and ensigns of the Duke of York and Albany’s Maritime Regiment of Foot from which the Corps originates.

Hi Fred,
For a made to order kilt where we source the fabric we currently charge £300 plus the cost of the fabric. So we are looking at £320 + postage. If you have got some friends who would like to order with you then the cost per kilt comes down significantly. How does that sound to you?
All the best,
Richard.

Do you ship to the USA and how long would shipping take. I would also like 45 Commando Tartan colours as well. What would be the cost of both?
Thanks
Andy

Hi Andy,
Yes we ship to the USA at no extra cost.
The commando stable belt design shown is £320
The commando tartan kilt would be £250 plus the cost price of 4m of the tartan itself (which could be in the region of an additional £300)
There is a £9.75 postage charge
So, in total we are looking at £579.75 + the cost of 4m of tartan
The factory is really busy at the moment so we are probably looking at mid March or so if you decide to put in an order.
Any other questions please drop me a line.

Is this the RM tartan you had in mind?
As it is only 70cm wide I think we’d need about 8m of this. Looks like the cost would be about £440 for the tartan.

Hi Richard
Sign me up for the Corp Stable belt. Q? Might sound stupid but, how do I add to cart and complete the order?
Also……I can’t view the RM tartan kilt but, if you do a 45 Commando one, I’ll be interested!
Thanks
